After much debacle, and swapping of tickets etc, Kristy, T-Bone and Stephe set out fairly late for The Mess Hall...
A quick view of Violent Soho convinced us that we didn't need to hang around to see the rest of that set, and we ducked out to the restaurant for a bite to eat and drink and chat. Which was, of course, excellent.
We went back in time to catch the tail end of the Butcher Birds' set, which was really good - a pity we missed the rest of it, eh.
Then The Mess Hall on the main stage, to the most crowded Annandale gig we've seen.
The sound was not real good (we were up the back, and it felt like the stage was a long way away - albeit with the side benefit that our ears aren't ringing (much)). It may have just been that the front only speaker stacks just can't handle a completely full room...?
That said - it was great. All the classics were in there. Jed smiled occasionally, and the crowd loved it. It was solid, it was strong, and the drummer is incredible.
A goodie...
