Dinosaur Jr - The Metro - 8 July 2007

Ah, a gig we figured we ought to go along to because Matt said it would be great.

It was crap.

Matt, Ben, Sam M., Tamara and Stephe along for the ride.

The support was Dinosaur Jr's bass guitarist, doing an acoustic set - which, apart from looking very much like amateur hour, was actually quite enjoyable.

The venue was half full, if that - so the bars outside weren't open, and we stayed inside the tiered seating area the whole time (not good).

When Dinosaur Jr came on, they played a wall of noise. Pointless, long, grinding walls of noise. Actually, to be honest, the sound quality was excellent - and you could clearly separate instruments etc - but the vocals were absolutely crap, and the songs were identical across the entire set - could have just been the one track.

Old, and tired. And not worth any part of the $50 it cost to get in.
